ISLAND REMINDERS:
CRAFT:
* Tie-Dye: If you wish to tie-dye on the Island, you will need to pack your own item to be dyed. Suggested items: T-shirts, tank tops, headbands, boxers, bandanas, etc.
Please DO NOT bring items that are sweatshirt or canvas fabric as they absorb too
much of the dye.
* Plates: If you have a design in mind for your plate, be sure to pack it (choosing a
design on the Island takes up a lot of time you could be using to actually make your
plate).
FAMILY VISITS ON THE ISLAND:
* Click on the words kaper chart, if you would like to find the best days for visits with your family.
* If you would like to join us for dinner, please sign up with Mrs. Farell. She
will have a notebook available at the June meeting. Please indicate the number
of people who will be dining with us so that we can ensure that we have
enough food for everyone.
TRANSPORTATION:
* We need all transportation plans finalized. If you have not yet provided this
information, please make sure to advise the Transportation Advisor at this
meeting. We need to purchase ferry tickets in advance for any Scouts who will be
met at the Island. We also need to be certain that we have arranged sufficient
passenger space via bus and private vehicles. Your assistance with this matter is
important and greatly appreciated!
SECRET PAL GIFTS:
* It is a good idea to get started now and to buy most of your secret pal gifts here
(prices are higher on the Island). You will want to label your gifts with the first and
last name of your secret pal to make sure the right person receives your gifts.
Wrapping paper is lovely, but not necessary ~ totally your call. Don't forget to pack
in your duffel all the secret pal gifts you have purchased.
INTEREST PROJECTS:
* Plan ahead. Take a look at an Interest Project that you might like to complete this
year and see what requirements you can do now; what places on the Island would
you need to visit and how will that fit in with your schedule; it's fun to find a friend
to pair up WITH and work together. Remember, a Girl Scout is prepared :~) Click
BADGES to see what opportunities await. If you are interested in Leadership,
you will need to complete an Interest Project as well as take part in the Leadership
Prep afternoon program.
