KID’S QUARTERS

Picture
PROS                                             CONS
You are indoors!                              This place gets very noisy.
You can move around in here.           The “sounds” can be very annoying.

HISTORY
This is the oldest building in the fort, although very little of the original structure remains.  It is the only building from the original British occupation of 1780 that is still standing.  The Officer’s Stone Quarters is considered to be the oldest building in the State of Michigan.

INSTRUCTIONS
Position:
Go inside the 2nd door (on the far right) of the Officer’s Stone Quarters and stand next to the “Manual of Arms” display in the back left room.
You’re responsible for crowd control of the Manual of Arms display.  Only allow 1‑2 kids in at a time.  Make sure the guns do not leave the room.  It is your job to keep the rooms neat and orderly.  Get involved with the children; help them put on clothing, take pictures, etc.  Make sure NOTHING leaves Kid’s Quarters.

Bathrooms:  North Sally Port ~  Right down boardwalk, turn left at stairs, behind Soldiers’ Barracks.
Water Fountain:  Top of the stairs at main entrance and in the bathrooms.
