Luggage Items
§ One duffel bag ~ measurement not to exceed 60 inches
when height, width and length of bag are added together ~ No Wheels
§ Remember to label everything, including shoes (name and GS#327)
§ Bring clothes that all coordinate so you can mix and match outfits
§ Bring enough clothes so that you can change if something gets stained;
your first spill in 12 years will be when you don’t have extras
§ Be prepared for all weather extremes and sudden changes
§ Pack your other uniform on top in case you need to change on arrival
§ Bring bedding that will be suitable for all temperatures. Most people
prefer sheets because they’re more comfortable and more like home.
Fitted sheet* to cover the mattress. The duffel that contains your bedding
should not exeed 60 inches when height, width and length of the bag are
added together.
§ Remember sunscreen (Once on duty is all it takes to become a lobster.)
§ Bring aloe lotion in case you do get burned.
§ If possible, bring battery operated items ~ there aren’t many outlets
§ Bring flip flops for the showers
§ Buy padded insoles if you have a hard time standing up for hours

§ Lunch* and Snacks with 2 resealable beverages
§ Uniform jacket and poncho*
§ 3 to 4 hours of reading material
§ Music player (not a cell phone nor a device capable of texting)
§ Camera (if your camera uses film, bring extra film)
§ Daytime personal items (hair brush, tooth brush, etc.)
§ Sunscreen, sunglasses (NO sunglasses with uniform on ferry & Island)
§ Small games or playing cards
§ A pillow IF IT WILL FIT IN YOUR BACKPACK
§ Some of your money
§ Calling Card and instructions for its use
§ NO CELL PHONES or PAGERS or devices that can TEXT
