DEVIL'S KITCHEN

Picture
This is one of the newest limestone formation on the Island.  It is a cavern that was formed by the lake waters lapping against it.  According to legend, it was the home of Red Gee-bis, who were cannibal giants.  One winter, a girl and her grandfather were left behind after their tribe left the Island.  They settled into a cave near the home of the devils.  They had little to eat or drink, and after a week of fasting the girl awoke and was aware of magical powers she had never known she had.  She could split open any rock, and water would flow from it.  She then used the power to put out the cooking fires of the Red Gee-bis, and to save her lover, who was their prisoner.
