TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
*The Transportation form is due at the January General Meeting. If you need to make any changes, please fill out a new form. No changes can be made after the June General Meeting.
MEETING THE BUS FOR DEPARTURE ON JUNE 15, 2024
Plan to arrive at St. Paul Lutheran Church promptly at 6:00 a.m. on June 15th. It is extremely important we leave the church parking lot on time so the bus driver does not feel pushed to meet our ferry departure deadline in Mackinaw City. We ask that you park in the lot across from the church and then the Scout must see Mrs. Oglesby with her luggage to check in.
MEETING THE BUS UPON OUR RETURN ON JUNE 22, 2024
We plan to return to St. Paul Lutheran Church 5:00 p.m. on June 22nd. If we are delayed for any reason (weather or traffic conditions, etc.), you will be notified as soon as possible, so please make sure we have the telephone number where you can be reached that afternoon.
PICKING UP YOUR DAUGHTER IN MACKINAW CITY
If your daughter will not be returning with the Troop by bus and you plan to pick her up in Mackinaw City (on the mainland), please arrive at Shepler’s Dock by 10:30 a.m.
PICKING UP YOUR DAUGHTER ON MACKINAC ISLAND
If your daughter will not be returning with the Troop by bus and you plan to meet her on the Island, please arrive at Shepler’s Dock on the Island by 9:30 a.m. Please do not request that your daughter be allowed to depart from the Scout Barracks or left unattended on the Island to be met later by you. These arrangements are both inconvenient and dangerous. Your daughter’s luggage will be brought from the Scout Barracks to Shepler's dock with the rest of the Troop luggage and the Scouts will march from the Barracks to the dock when we leave on Saturday.
FERRY INFORMATION
Our Troop uses Shepler’s Ferry. They offer discounts through AAA and sometimes through other commercial advertising programs. Their website is www.sheplersferry.com
Other ferry services include: Star Line (www.mackinacferry.com).
